Pernas Securities Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pernas International Holdings Berhad (PIHB) a public listed company on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE), entered into an agreement in September 1988 with Olivetti (M) Sdn Bhd to incorporate PERNAS OLIVETTI INFORMATION SYSTEMS SDN BHD . In this joint venture , Pernas Securities Sdn Bhd own 65% of the company, with Olivetti (M) Sdn Bhd taking up the remaining 35% share of the equity. At the same time, Pernas Securities  signed an agreement with Olivetti System & Solution (a subsidiary of Olivetti International S.A. Italy), to acquire a 35% stake in Olivetti (M) Sdn Bhd.  In January 1998, the entire equity Olivetti Systems & Solution S.P.A was sold to Wang Laboratories USA. This new merge business entity was later renamed Wang Global, USA. Subsequently in May 1999, Getronics NV, a Dutch company having its headquaters in Amsterdam, Netherlands, acquired Wang Global USA. Getronics is one of Europe's third largest service providers in the field of ICT in Europe. This transaction created a US5.0 billion global ICT Services and Business Solutions Company with total workforce of 34,000 employees worldwide.

In January 2000, Pernas Securities disposes of all its interest in Getronic's Solution Malaysia in return for 100% equity in Pernas Olivetti Information Systems Sdn Bhd. After this aggreement was completed, Pernas Olivetti Informaton Systems Sdn Bhd. After this agreement was completed, Pernas Olivetti Information Systems Sdn Bhd was then renamed POIS Sdn Bhd. Thus, effective from 1st of January 2000, POIS Sdn Bhd become a 100% subsidiary of Pernas Securities Sdn Bhd which was subsequently rename Tradewinds Resources in 2002.

 The ultimate holding company for POIS is Tradewinds Corporation Berhad (TCB), a Bursa Malaysia main  board listed company. After the acquisition by Pernas Securities, POIS entered into agreement with Highpoint Service Network ( a major technical services company in Malaysia), whereby the latter will provide after sales technical support and services to POIS's customers through its twenty one (21) Technical Services Centres located in major towns in the country. 

 POIS has an authorised and total paid up capital of  RM1,000,000.00 (Ringgit One Million Only). POIS are registered with Ministry of Finance Malaysia as a contractor and supplier of office products, computers,  and computer products and services. Since its inception in October 1998, POIS has been given the status of BUMIPUTRA Contractor by Ministry of Finance Malaysia.
